Services: anxiety, depression, low-self esteem, anger, conflict with a parent or family member, divorce, social problems, problems at school and students with disabilities.
All children and adolescents experience problems from time to time, and talking with peers or family members can resolve the issue. However, if problems persist for a prolonged period of time, and your child’s school work or emotional well-being suffers significantly, sometimes talking with your child about their problems isn’t enough.
Therapy offers a confidential, non-judgmental and safe environment for your concerns to be heard. I utilize a wide range of therapeutic techniques to help you and your child gain insight into self-defeating behaviors. Collaboratively we look at the function of your child’s misbehavior—what needs they are trying to meet, such as attention from peers or teacher, or work avoidance. The goal is to teach replacement skills for appropriately meeting these needs.
